Laval

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Reynald Lucien Asselin, on August 12, 2025, at the age of 79.

He is survived by his wife Dora, his son Cédric, ( Reynald Jr. , Julie, Claude) and many other relatives and friends who will remember him fondly.

The family invites you to a moment of condolence on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 1 p.m., at the Forêt de la Seconde Vie.

Following the meeting, a Ginkgo biloba tree will be planted in memory of Mr. Asselin. A symbol of longevity, peace and resilience, this majestic tree will live on through the seasons, carrying the memory of his life and perpetuating his memory among his loved ones. In the quiet of the forest, this gesture becomes a living tribute, where nature becomes the guardian of his memory.

The Forêt de la Seconde Vie offers a unique place of recollection, where the memory of loved ones takes root in the heart of nature, reminding us that life continues in the cycle of the forest and the breath of the trees.

The family warmly thanks all those who will share this moment of tribute to Mr. Reynald Lucien Asselin.

What is Forêt de la seconde vie ?

Take root in your lifetime | Forêt de la seconde Vie

Ecoforest cemetery

La Forêt de la seconde vie is an ecoforestry cemetery; an alternative to traditional funeral homes that allows you to contribute to the creation of forests, in tribute to the memory of your loved ones and for the benefit of future generations.

A unique concept in Quebec

To date, we are the only site in Quebec with the necessary authorizations for the burial of ashes to have grafted a forest conservation servitude onto our project to ensure the preservation and protection of the forest in perpetuity.

Future generations

Our alternative funeral services allow you to pay tribute to your deceased by dedicating their second life to the benefit of future generations. The reforestation initiative initiative at Forêt de la seconde vie captures up to 175 tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere every year.
