Ginette Rivest

Saint-Eustache,

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Ginette Rivest, at the Maison de soins palliatifs Sercan in Saint-Eustache, on September 24, 2025, at the age of 74.

She is survived by her husband Robert Flynn, her children Martin and Anne-Marie, her grandchildren Rosalie, Thomas, Dahlia, Evan and Julia, her sister Diane, her brother Sylvain, her nieces and nephews, her in-laws, and all those who knew and loved her.

To honor his memory and celebrate his life, his family has chosen to pay tribute by rooting a Sargent cherry tree, a symbol of renewal, gentleness and continuity. A warm gathering will provide an opportunity to reflect and share memories and thoughts. Through this serene gesture, the memory of Ginette Rivest will live on through the seasons and the beauty of nature.

The outdoor farewell ceremony will take place on Sunday, October 12 at 11 a.m. at the Forêt de la Seconde Vie, located at 835 chemin de l'Achigan Est, in Sainte-Sophie. As a trail walk is planned, we invite those attending to dress comfortably and according to the weather.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to encourage donations to the Sercan Foundation, in memory of Ginette Rivest. Donations can be made online at the following link: Donation choice

Your presence, thoughts and support are deeply appreciated at this difficult time.

What is Forêt de la seconde vie ?

Take root in your lifetime | Forêt de la seconde Vie

Ecoforest cemetery

La Forêt de la seconde vie is an ecoforestry cemetery; an alternative to traditional funeral homes that allows you to contribute to the creation of forests, in tribute to the memory of your loved ones and for the benefit of future generations.

A unique concept in Quebec

To date, we are the only site in Quebec with the necessary authorizations for the burial of ashes to have grafted a forest conservation servitude onto our project to ensure the preservation and protection of the forest in perpetuity.

Future generations

Our alternative funeral services allow you to pay tribute to your deceased by dedicating their second life to the benefit of future generations. The reforestation initiative initiative at Forêt de la seconde vie captures up to 175 tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere every year.
