White oak

This tree represents majesty and divinity.

It is a symbol of strength and endurance. In Greek mythology, it is nothing less than the sacred tree of Zeus, king of the gods, and is found at the heart of his precincts. Greek priests interpreted Zeus' words through the rustling of oak leaves. It is used for a multitude of tasks thanks to its extremely hard, yet malleable wood. It is one of the few woods that man has dared to trust for the construction of ocean-going ships. It represents nobility in the forest, and some even call it the king of the forest.

The White Oak grows very slowly. When it reaches maturity, its large, twisted branches can be seen. It can grow up to 30 meters tall, with a rounded, spreading crown. Its bark is light gray, with furrows forming scaly patches. It has long been used to make barrels for wine and other spirits. The White Oak has the stature of a true king, but it also evokes generosity, as it is a source of food, shelter and a focal point for forest animals.
