FAQ

Is aquamation available at Forêt de la seconde vie ?

Yes, aquamation is a burial service offered by Forêt de la seconde vie. Call our team to take advantage of this environmentally friendly alternative to traditional cremation.

What is aquamation

Aquamation, or alkaline hydrolysis, is a method of body disposal that uses water, heat and an alkaline (usually potash or caustic soda) to break down organic tissue. This process is presented as an ecological alternative to traditional cremation, as it consumes less energy and emits no atmospheric pollutants. After aquamation, only the bones remain, which are then ground to a powder, similar to ashes after cremation, and returned to the family.

What is an ecoforest cemetery?

An eco-forestry cemetery is a funeral space that favors an ecological and sustainable approach. This type of cemetery allows the deceased to be buried in nature, often without stone monuments or conventional coffins, in order to respect the environment and preserve the natural appearance of the site.

Can I come for a walk in the forest?

Our ecoforest cemetery is currently open by appointment only, and the site is protected and accessible to families of the deceased exclusively, as well as to owners of trees under a life concession.

What are the payment terms?

We accept payment by credit card, debit card and bank transfer.

Can you cut down the tree on my burial plot?

No, no tree cutting is authorized on the lot. An environmental protection easement is registered when the lot is purchased. However, in certain cases, we must intervene on trees to ensure their growth.

Do we have a guarantee on the tree?

We offer a guarantee on the tree, depending on the package chosen. It's important to note that a dead tree makes an important contribution to biodiversity. It plays a role in the ecosystem, providing a home for birds, insects, fungi and plants. It's a third life that nature offers us.

Does the safe have to be public?

No, you can choose between a public and a private safe. It's also possible to have some private, and some public, people under the same concession. (Or under the same tree).

Can the safe hold information from several family members?

This depends on the package you have chosen. We suggest you consult a family advisor.

What happens if I stop paying the monthly fee?

You will no longer have access to the safe and the information it contains. The safe will become the property of Forêt de la Seconde Vie.

Can I access the cloud from home?

No, to access the virtual safe, you have to be near the tree on the site.

Can I choose the location of my lot?

Yes, by following the current reforestation sequence by forest zone and taking into account the growth of tree species up to their projected canopy. We recommend that you contact one of our advisors for more information.

How many dispersions can I put at the foot of my tree?

Depending on the option chosen, the number of scatterings may vary. For the memorial tree, you are entitled to nine scatterings. For family trees, you're allowed up to eight scatterings. For shared trees, only one scattering is permitted.

Can I find my lot without the application?

A physical map is available on the site, and an electronic tablet is also available for this purpose. To find the location of the lot, please refer to one of our advisors.

Can I put an ecological urn underground?

No, no urns are accepted, with the exception of those at Forêt de la Seconde Vie. Please ask one of our advisors for further details.

Should we renew our lot?

No: your plot in our eco-forest cemetery is paid for in perpetuity.

Is there a maintenance fee for cemetery plots?

Yes, the cost depends on your choice of products. The maintenance fees will be used to control vegetation to allow access to the commemorative sites and ensure the longevity and beauty of the bequeathed ecoforestry site. In addition, we allocate a portion of the sum to maintain computer support, updates and maintenance of the digital cloud.
